The Museum of Inuit Art is located at 207 Queen's Quay West, in the south-west corner of the Queen's Quay Terminal Building at Harbourfront Centre, on the shore of Lake Ontario, in downtown Toronto. MIA is located at the corner of Queen's Quay West and York streets.

 

HOW TO GET HERE

 

By TTC:   

 

  • from Union Station, take the 510 or 509 streetcar. Get off at York Street (2nd stop). Cross the street south to the waterfront.
  • from Spadina Subway Station, take the 510 Union Station streetcar. Get off at York Street.

 

By Car:

 

If you are travelling from the West:

 

  • take the Gardiner Expressway E
  • take the Spadina Exit, turning right on Spadina Ave.
  • continue on Spadina heading South until you reach Queen's Quay West, turn left
  • continue on Queen's Quay West until you reach York Street, MIA will be on the right

 

If you are travelling from the East:

 

  • at the King Hwy 401 W, take exit 375 to merge onto Don Valley Parkway S
  • continue on Gardiner Expressway W/King's Hwy 2 W
  • take the York St./Bay St. exit
  • merge onto Lakeshore Blvd. E, slight right on Lakeshore Blvd. W
  • turn left at Lower Simcoe St., then then left at Queen's Quay West
  • continue on Queen's Quay West until you reach York Street, MIA will be on the right

 

If you are travelling from the North:

 

  • on Hwy 404 S, take the Don Valley Parkway S
  • continue on Gardiner Expresswy/King's Hwy 2 W
  • take the York St./Bay St. exit
  • merge onto Lakeshore Blvd. E, slight right on Lakeshore Blvd. W
  • turn left at Lower Simcoe St., then then left at Queen's Quay West
  • continue on Queen's Quay West until you reach York Street, MIA will be on the right

 

Parking:

 

Parking lots are right next to MIA, on the southside of Queen's Quay and immediately north of the museum.

 

NEARBY ATTRACTIONS

 

MIA is a short walk from many of Toronto's favourite tourist attractions. The CN Tower, Rogers Centre and the Steamwhistle Brewery are just north-west of MIA. The Hockey Hall of Fame at Yonge/Front Street and the Air Canada Centre are just north-east.

 

The Toronto Islands Ferry Terminal and the Distillery District are a few minutes east, along the shore of Lake Ontario.

 

Harbourfront itself is packed with shops, exhibits and events for tourists and residents of Toronto alike. Lake Ontario and Toronto harbour cruises begin right outside MIA's door.
